He preens as she calls him ugly, apparently basking in the comments. Gives the slightest of curtseys. He isn’t remotely offended. From where his true eyes watch behind the shadows, she is the mere hint of a human shape in blended beige and now with a hint of red where eyes might lie. The abyss is a poor lens for beauty, but he is afraid of what viewing her through the vessel’s eyes would do to either form. Better to use his ‘mirror’ made of shadow.
“‘Need’ might make me sound a little abrupt,” he says with a broad grin. "I just wanted to pay my respects- I am glad to hear the rumours of your demise were greatly exaggerated. This might sound a little embarrassing, but- I always wanted to meet you." He grins again bashfully, that small spread of teeth, and just the faintest red glow tinges his cheeks.
She laughed, though there was no mirth that touched her eyes. “Hardly, dear. Perseus still chopped my head off. Funny how things end up working out in Hades’s realm.” When she glanced up at him again and noticed the blush in his cheeks, the sincerity within his words, she softened. He was simply adorable. No longer did she see the intimidation of the eye-less man, but a shadow with boyish admiration and gods there was no way he was faking that cute little blush.
“The pleasure is mine, Shadow. Come, take a seat. Tell me your name.” Em grinned and twirled the side of her wig, tugging it down slightly to reveal the scaly forms just beneath it.
